Jack Towsley is a health care executive with 30 years of experience.  He is nationally recognized for his diverse experiences as a senior leader on all sides of health care (payors, physicians, hospitals, and an integrated system) and his passionate advocacy for the successful transition to value based care.  Jack is President of Optum New Mexico, a multi-specialty medical group and affiliate network in Albuquerque.
 
During Jack’s career in the healthcare industry, he has had extensive experience with all health plan products, risk and alternative payments, operations, provider relations, contracting, and data analytics.  His previous roles include President of Fluent Health (a subsidiary of Presbyterian Healthcare Services), Divisional Senior Vice President of Health Care Delivery at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Senior Vice President of Payor Relations at Health Management Associates, and 10 years at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) in Strategic Pricing and Analytics.
 
Preceding HCA, Jack served as President and CEO of the Scottsdale PHO – a 440 physician-owned IPA. Jack represented Health Net of Arizona as Senior Vice President, leading the effort to improve the company’s relationships with physicians and hospitals. Other roles included President and General Manager for Cigna HealthCare of Georgia and four years as the CEO of United Healthcare of Arizona. Jack began his career in California, where he held positions in network management with Prudential Healthcare Systems.
 
Jack has been a valued member of many prestigious organizations and associations, including serving as President of the Arizona and Georgia Associations of HMOs, President of the Utah Taxpayers Association, March of Dimes of Georgia, North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, PediPlace, Marathon Kids, and Albuquerque Economic Development.
 
Jack completed his undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University and received his Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley.
